Varane Injured, Misses Bournemouth Match
The Red Devils have faced persistent fitness challenges throughout the season, especially in defense. Players such as Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia have all endured lengthy periods on the sidelines. Even French World Cup winner Varane has been sidelined at times during the 2023/24 season. Following his halftime substitutions in both the draw against Brentford and the loss to Chelsea, Manchester United has officially announced that Varane will be out of action for the foreseeable future, starting with Saturday's match against Bournemouth. Jonny Evans, a Northern Irishman, replaced Varane at Stamford Bridge, but his own time on the pitch was cut short to just 21 minutes due to injury. Manager Erik ten Hag then turned to 19-year-old Willy Kambwala as a replacement.
